Now Accepting Applications for the XXV IRT Travel Awards


IRT Travel Awards

A limited number of travel awards are available through the IS3NA to young researchers with restricted budgets to present at the upcoming International Roundtable. The purpose of the travel awards is to encourage doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers to attend and present their work as an oral or a poster presentation at the International Roundtable (IRT) on Nucleosides, Nucleotides & Nucleic Acids to be held in Tokyo, Japan on September 3-6, 2024. The submission deadline for the IS3NA Travel Awards application is April 5, 2024.


Eligibility:


To be eligible for the award, an individual must be a student currently pursuing a doctoral degree or a young researcher in a postdoctoral position (PhD Dissertation within 5 years). Moreover, he or she must be a member of IS3NA (for details, see https://www.is3na.org)


Application Process:


Click on the below link to access the submission form. You must include the following documents as a in the order listed below single PDF file:  


  1. Short CV (max 1 page)

  2. Supporting letter of the mentor confirming the role of the applicant as PhD student or post-doc and specifying the mentor's inability to cover the travel and staying expenses of the applicant through institutional or personal grants (max 1 page)

  3. Letter of the applicant with indication of the expected costs for travel and staying expenses to attend the XXV IRT in Tokyo (max 1 page)

  4. Submitted abstract





Additional Information:

The IS3NA Poster and Travel Awards committee will evaluate all the regular applications before the Early Bird registration deadline. The winners of the Travel Awards will be directly contacted by e-mail and will have to confirm the award acceptance. As a general rule, only one application from the same lab will be accepted; should supervisors send more than one recommendation letter, they will have to indicate the priority order of the applicants. The winners of the IS3NA Travel Awards for the XXV IRT cannot apply for the IS3NA Poster Awards for the same conference.
