XXIV IRT TRAVEL AWARDS
Updated: Apr 15, 2020

A very limited number of travel awards are available through the IS3NA to young participants with restricted budgets who have an accepted abstract. The purpose of the travel awards is to encourage doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers to attend and present their work as an oral or a poster presentation at the International Roundtable on Nucleosides, Nucleotides & Nucleic Acids to be held in Stockholm, Sweden, August 23-27, 2020. The deadline for the IS3NA Travel Awards application is May 4th, 2020.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for the award, an individual must be a student currently pursuing a doctoral degree or a young researcher in a postdoctoral position (PhD Dissertation within 5 years). Moreover, he or she must be a member of IS3NA (for details, see https://www.is3na.org)
2020 Application Process:
Send an abstract to the XXIV IRT through the standard abstract submission process
Each candidate must then submit (as a single pdf file):
A short CV (max 1 page)
A recommendation letter from your supervisor confirming applicant’s role and specifying the supervisor’s inability to cover the travel and accommodation expenses of the applicant through institutional or personal grants, i.e the details of your situation as to why you need the award (max 1 page)
A detailed estimation of your travel and accommodation budget (max 1page)
A copy of your abstract sent to the XXIV IRT
Please send the above information by email (as one single pdf file) to the chair of the Travel Awards committee, Prof. Daniela Montesarchio, Ph.D. at (daniela.montesarchio@unina.it), with the words XXIV IRT Travel Award in the subject title.
The IS3NA Poster and Travel Awards committee will evaluate all the regular applications before the Early Bird registration deadline. The winners of the Travel Awards will be directly contacted by e-mail and will have to confirm the award acceptance. As a general rule, only one application from the same lab will be accepted; should supervisors send more than one recommendation letter, they will have to clearly rank the applicants. The winners of the IS3NA Travel Awards for the XXIV IRT cannot apply for the IS3NA Poster Awards for the same conference.
