Postdoctoral Position in Nucleic Acid Chemistry

The Chaput laboratory at the University of California, Irvine is seeking qualified postdoctoral candidates for a position in the field of nucleic acid chemistry. He or she would be responsible for the synthesis and evaluation of new types of genetic polymers for diagnostic and therapeutic applications.
Experience. Applicants should have a PhD in chemistry, chemical biology, or an equivalent field of science with extensive experience in chemical synthesis. The ideal candidate will have a strong record of scientific rigor, productivity, and creativity, as demonstrated by scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals. Strong oral and written communication skills are required, as well as a commitment to team science.
Research. Postdoctoral students will evaluate new regions of chemical space using organic chemistry to synthesize novel nucleic acid molecules that can be incorporated into oligonucleotides by chemical or enzymatic methods.
