Job Opening - UMBC Postdoctoral Position

POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE POSITIONS


The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry has two postdoctoral researcher positions available in the laboratories of Prof. Katherine Seley-Radtke (https://chemistry.umbc.edu/faculty/katherine-seley-radtke/).


Candidates should have a strong background in the synthesis of nucleosides, nucleotides and/or nucleic acids. Candidates should also have strong communication skills, ability to conduct research, prepare manuscripts and presentations independently, and ability and willingness to work with graduate and undergraduate students in the laboratory. The candidate will be part of a team performing highly relevant translational research involving the development of broad spectrum small molecule inhibitors for pandemic preparedness, targeting coronaviruses such as SARS-CoV-2, filoviruses such as Ebola and Marburg, and flaviviruses including dengue, tickborne encephalitis and yellow fever viruses. We seek candidates with strong experience in the design and synthesis of nucleosides and their corresponding mono-, di- and triphosphate analogues, as well as prodrugs.
